Kirkland Uncorked KHS Booth

July 16th, 17th & 18th 2010

Uncorked by Event Organizer Bob Burke

We had 5 people help setup the booth and 2 worked on the display.  Nineteen people (including some of those who setup) took different shifts during the various time slots each day.  Five people helped tear-down and return the booth to Heritage Hall.   It is always interesting how willing people are to help and how much fun they say they have had in doing it before.

Thanks to Matt McCauley  for giving his report and Pictures of the booth

Bob Burke arranged all of the volunteer scheduling and filled most of the shifts--he really did a great job putting the whole thing together. On Friday morning 7/16, Bob, Barb, Vic, Steve Lamson, Fred and me transported the fixtures and inventory to our spot at Marina Park where we immediately began set up. Barb arranged the pictures and other items in the booth and made sure it looked nice. Bob has the schedule of what member volunteers assisted in staffing the booth--they worked two hours shifts. They all did a GREAT job!).

Steve Lamson was there for several shifts and dropped by several times, too, and he sold nearly all of the copies of his book . We sold more sarsaparilla once we displayed bottles outside the cooler.  We gave away most of the membership brochures and old copies of BP we had available.. We  had several people put money in our donation jar. On Sunday we used Barbara's SUV to return the booth and materials to HH. Overall, I believe we did a good job representing KHS at this community event and I really appreciate the wonderful effort done by our incredible volunteers. (Extra special thanks to Bob, Barb and Steve).
